Champagne moons fill deathly bright in front of my eyes.
I am captured by the starlit beauty that surrounds me. Half-lit smiles, shiny
eyes, bloodshot cheeks and spin-drop lights that blaze fractured rays
through the crowd. I feel peaceful, I feel chaotic. I love, I crave, I
shine bright in this black room of dusty shoes and high expectations. My
toes curl inwards in my orange suede high heels which totter the planks
of sticky floor. Don’t spill your drink on me. Don’t touch my pretty
lace dress. Don’t take away my dignity. I smile up at you with lies and
delight. I am not who you think I am.
My glass tinkles sparkly in my hand; bracelets graze my fragile wrist. I am not bound anymore.
And yet I am entirely bound: my hands are tied behind my back.
Fill me up again.
